Lumio is a fast, modern, multiplatform media player built for people who want a clean and reliable way to watch their own video streams and playlists — on any screen, without friction.
It runs on Android phones and tablets, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android-based set-top boxes, LG smart TVs (webOS), Windows 10/11, Linux, and directly in the browser — all from a single codebase, so the experience feels consistent everywhere.
Lumio is a player only. It is a tool, not a service. It does not provide, host, or distribute any content, channels, or streams. You bring your own sources — a playlist URL, an Xtream server, or any direct stream link — and Lumio plays it.
Think of it like VLC or MX Player, built from the ground up for the modern multi-screen household: remote-controlled TVs, Android boxes, and desktop computers all treated as first-class citizens.
Most media player apps are either too complex, too bloated, or designed for a single platform. We wanted something that:
We built Lumio because we couldn't find an existing solution that checked all these boxes at once.
Lumio is developed and maintained by a small independent team of software developers passionate about clean media software. We are a bootstrapped, self-funded project — no investors, no ads, no data monetisation.
Our business model is straightforward: you pay once for a lifetime licence and we keep making the app better. That alignment keeps us focused on the product, not on maximising engagement metrics.
